I was interviewing Ougan Soldat, a vodou priest and community leader who had been trained to fight cholera in Haiti. It was 4pm and we talked about how he’d learned how to prepare oral re hydration salts to save lives and then send cholera victims to the hospital for treatment. His rooster was watching us suspiciously from the corner the whole time, and I snapped this photo before leaving Caracol and heading back to Cap Haitian for the night.
