In Graubünden, several spring streams form the two upper courses Reno Anterior and Reno Posterior. However, it is Lake Toma on the Oberalp Pass which is considered to be the source of the Rhine. A high point on the course of the river is the Rhine Canyon in Ilanz, with rocky walls of 400 m on both sides
