The bridge you can see on the picture is called “Stari Most” and is also the symbol of the city of Mostar. It was destroyed at the 9. of November 1993 during the Yugoslavia war. The bridge got rebuilt from 1995 to 2004 and is now listed as a UNESCO world heritage. For UNESCO, the bridge stands as a symbol of reconciliation and international cooperation and as a symbol for the coexistence of different religious, cultural and ethnic communities.
