Sometimes it’s easy to go through life looking down: constantly enveloped in our own lives and problems. So much so that we miss all the beauty there is around us. I had this realisation on my recent trip to Rome, Italy, and I feel it’s nicely represented in this photo I captured in one of the hundreds of incredible church’s there. The history and the context to each and every brush stroke and stone carving is so easily looked over, left in the dark to be forgotten. Sometimes all it takes is for us to look up and allow some light to be shone onto it - metaphorically.
