I was making the drive from Tuscaloosa, AL to Atlanta GA–the same drive I make just about every two weeks. This time, I decided to pull off and head for the misty top of Cheaha State Park. When I reached the summit, I was completely alone with the slowly intensifying rain. These two trees stood taller than anything for miles around, forming a sort of quiet companionship that I couldn’t help but assimilate to a pause sign. I felt like that was appropriate for the space.
