Before heading out on a 7-day backpacking trip through the High Sierra Nevada’s, I took a warm-up hike through Evans Canyon in Reno, NV. As I was winding down, the sun sank below the horizon and lit up the landscape around me in the smoothest gold tones I’ve ever seen.
