I met him in a village in Sri Lanka. He explained that every day he crossed the canal, climbed on almost 10 coconut palms and collected the walnuts and sold them. He told me he would not earn much but with a smile he added that it would be enough to bring home food, to his family. The extraordinary thing is that he had this brilliant idea to avoid crossing the bridge several times with a huge weight; He threw all the nuts in the water along with his equipment and went through the canal swimming with his load.
