Driving down to Vik, we stopped at Kirkjufjara to gaze at the black sand beach. Once we got there, we were breathless at the stunning waves crashing into the beach, the volcanic rock formations around us, and then…the light. There’s not much light in Iceland in January, but when you see it, well you get lost in it.
